Where it all began
A 4Runner, a camera, and every trail we could reach
TK Offroad started in 2006 as a place to post photos from weekend trail runs around Utah. The early runs meant planning every inch of the line so we wouldn't get stuck or tear the body apart, which made them fun.
Over the years the site picked up trail reports, readers' rigs, a few how-tos, and plenty of entries for "the suck heap": the parts and plans that didn't work out.

Runs worth remembering
-
Rattlesnake Canyon
Five Mile Pass, near Fairfield, UT
Rated about a 2.5. Stock Jeeps and full-size pickups get through it without much trouble, so it's a good first trail.
-
Little Moab
Utah
A spring run with the video camera rolling the whole way.
-
The Diff Hanger
Price, UT
Named for what it does to your differential. Bring skids and a spotter.
-
Rattlesnake, again
Five Mile Pass, UT
Back with a group of stock 4×4s. It was a reminder of the old days, when every line had to be picked carefully.
Tech stuff
Built in the garage, tested on the rocks
One of the old site's how-tos was a template for making ball joint spacers for an IFS 4Runner, a cheap way to get a little more lift out of the front end. The archive is being dug out of old backups, and the best of it will be back here.
